THIS PROGRAMME WILL enable staff to:

  • Recognise their own and each other’s strengths

  • Identify how they use their strengths in their roles

  • Identify the effects of the ‘shadow-sides’ of strengths and ways to manage these

  • Increase understanding and decrease conflict in a team

  • Understand the strengths and any potential ‘gaps’ in the strengths of the team as a whole

  • Identify how using strengths and minimising the impact of any ‘gaps can help the team to grasp opportunities and rise to challenges

  • Draw up an outline action plan to intentionally use their strengths and minimise the impact of any gaps to achieve the team’s goals.

Sample Strengths Finder® team session

Below is a sample outline for a typical six-hour session that will be tailored to suit.

  • Understanding what Strengths Finder® does and does not measure – the ‘language of strengths’

  • Understanding what a theme is and how the ‘brain wiring’ of themes works

  • Exploring how different strengths interact

  • Using the language of strengths to increase understanding and decrease tension and conflict in a team by articulating the contribution, needs and frustrations of the different strengths within the group

  • Understanding the ‘shadow sides’ of strengths – i.e. how behaviours and characteristics of strengths change under pressure and the impact of these

  • Recognising the impact of individual and team strengths of this team on its effectiveness to deliver goals

  • Recognising how the team’s Strengths Profile can help or hinder progress

  • Putting in place outline action plans to maximise the impact of strengths and manage limitations in order to deliver the team’s objectives.

The team session can be supplemented by 1:1 coaching calls.
