What does this COURSE cover?

We all know how difficult it is to have conversations with colleagues about behaviour, attitude or under performance. Without proper preparation and confidence these types of conversations can undermine relationships and can cast far-reaching ripples of negativity throughout the company.

This highly practical and interactive one-day course is designed to help managers tackle areas of conflict in a less challenging and more constructive way. Delegates will learn a structured and personalised approach to challenging conversations. At the end of the session, delegates will be empowered to return to work equipped with their own practical plan of action.

During this course participants will learn how to:

  • Set clear expectations

  • Handle difficult attitudes

  • Confidently have difficult conversations with staff and colleagues

  • Select the appropriate feedback tools

  • Identify how to remain assertive and in ‘adult’ mode

  • Spot what happens when your buttons are pressed and how to manage this

  • Increase emotional intelligence

  • Ensure the conversation is constructive

  • Manage resistance from the other person

  • Handle tricky conversations on the phone and face to face

  • Prepare effectively for difficult situations

  • Apply the tools and techniques to your own situation
