Current or aspiring managers/team leaders.

WHAT DOES THIS COURSE COVER?

When you’re in the same office as your team, many management and leadership tasks/functions happen smoothly and automatically. However, this is thrown into sharp focus when you have to manage remotely. Managers suddenly realise how difficult it can be to oversee productivity and morale without the benefits of direct supervision and face-to-face contact. And if some team members are in the office and some are at home, ie hybrid teams, there can be added complications.

Remote managers must know how to plan and encourage coordinated independent working, as well as how to support those struggling to adapt. This live online training session provides a toolkit of techniques and processes to help them do just that. After completing this course, delegates will feel more confident in their ability to succeed as effective and efficient managers of remote teams.

The course will enable participants to:

  • Identify current challenges of remote management

  • Identify which aspects of management we need to focus on more ‘intentionally’

  • Understand the focus versus motivation challenge for each team member

  • Use a range of tools to boost engagement

  • Use ‘Action-centred Remote Leadership’ to balance competing priorities

  • Support and maintain relationships with individual team members

  • Harness the power of short-term goals to motivate a team and monitor productivity

  • Develop a flexible leadership style

  • Support new starters and those learning new tasks, whilst stretching more experienced team members

  • Hold effective 1:1s and team meetings

  • Maintain communication, collaboration and relationships across the team

  • Sustain the team’s morale, positivity and purpose
